The shadow is hidden largely from us, and in many ways, it keeps energy from us because it takes energy to hide these parts of ourselves. The intention of working with the shadow is to integrate it, understand it, and begin to turn towards that which we often want to turn away from (our shame, embarrassment, and parts we tend to hide). This is the journey to the heart of what really matters most to us.
That means holding space for all the good, bad and ugly parts we have; including old stories, narratives, identities and strategies that used to work but are not working for you anymore.
